Tipper and highway maintenance lorries on a TM120 haul road into a primary school construction site
Civils · New primary school build

TM120 haul road and laydown for a new primary school build.

A civils contractor building a new primary school in North Yorkshire needed a firm haul road for site traffic and a laydown area on the grass beside the build. TrackMatz supplied TM120 heavy-duty composite mats to give the build a firm route in and a working area that kept daily traffic and materials off the turf.

The requirement

Site traffic in. Materials on the grass.

The build needed a route that tippers, highway maintenance lorries and site vehicles could use every day, running past the welfare cabins, skips and fenced compound into the school site.

Alongside the route, the contractor needed somewhere to set down plant and materials. The available space was a grass playing field, so the laydown area had to sit on the turf without the field being rutted by daily use.

Hire record

Site traffic on the route. Materials off the turf.

The photographs show the haul road in daily use and the laydown area set out on the playing field, giving the build a firm route in for site traffic and a solid working area beside it.

Evidence boundary: this case study records the hire as photographed. Hire dates, quantities and final ground condition are not presented as outcomes.

Start with the traffic. Then size the laydown.

Ground conditions, loading, traffic and duration determine the matting and layout. TrackMatz reviews those details, along with delivery access and whether you want dry hire or installation, before confirming the proposal.
