LIGHT DUTY · PEDESTRIAN AND ASSESSED CAR ACCESS

TM10. Pedestrian access, events and assessed car traffic.

Pedestrian routes, event flooring, temporary walkways and occasional car access where ground conditions allow. The profiled rubber surface adds grip, reduces impact noise and helps protect soft or sensitive ground. TM10 is our hand-laid light duty ground protection mat for event access, step-free routes and temporary parking. We assess the ground and traffic before confirming vehicle use.

WHERE IT FITS

What the TM10 is built for. And what it isn't.

Pick the right class first time. Most issues come from running a light duty mat where a heavier class was needed. Honest spec saves you the call back and a re-spec on site.

Use it for

Real projects the TM10 was built for.

  • Pedestrian and crowd routes at events, venues and welfare areas.
  • Temporary walkways and step-free routes, including sensitive or finished surfaces.
  • Defined pedestrian access around compounds, laydown areas and solar welfare zones.
  • Occasional car access only after a ground, traffic and duration assessment.
  • Overflow parking only where the ground, vehicle mix and traffic frequency are suitable.
Don't use it for

Wrong class projects that cause issues.

  • Vans, commercial vehicles, trucks or site plant without approval. These normally require a higher mat class.
  • Tracked plant of any kind. Specify TM120 or TM200 after assessment.
  • Heavy cranes, concentrated loads or long-duration heavy traffic on soft ground.
  • Bridging deep ruts or voids, or use as permanent hardstanding.
  • Any project selected from the 20 tonne test figure alone. The test is not universal vehicle approval.

Manufacturer guidance is 10 tonnes suggested and tested up to 20 tonnes, depending on ground conditions. We confirm suitability from the ground, load footprint, traffic and duration.

TONGUE AND GROOVE

Slots together. Lifts apart in seconds.

Every TM10 slots to the next on a tongue and groove joint. No connectors, no bolts, no tools. The run behaves as a single surface under traffic and drains through the profiled base. One person can lay it and lift it.

TONGUE AND GROOVE JOINT

Each mat slots into the next and steps down flush. Adapts around obstacles. No loose parts to count or lose.

RAMP SYSTEM

Ramped edges give a lower-profile transition to ground level. Ideal for events, public venues and wheelchair or pushchair access.

ONE PERSON INSTALL

No machinery. No specialist crew.

At 20 kg a mat, one person can carry, slot and lay a run by hand. Self-collect with a layout brief, or let our crew install it.

No tools. No connectors. The crew that lays it can lift it.

STRAIGHT TALK · MANUFACTURER FIGURE VS PROJECT APPROVAL

How to read the load figures.

The manufacturer suggests up to 10 tonnes and reports testing up to 20 tonnes depending on ground conditions. The 20 tonne figure is not automatic approval for a vehicle or route.

Project suitability depends on the ground, load footprint, traffic frequency, turning, braking and duration. Pedestrian use is the core application. We approve occasional car access only after those checks.

Manufacturer test figure

Tested up to 20 tonnes.

  • Published manufacturer test figure
  • Depends on ground conditions
  • Not universal vehicle approval
  • Does not replace an application check
TrackMatz application guidance

Up to 10 tonnes, assessed.

  • Pedestrian use is the core application
  • Occasional cars only after a ground check
  • Vans, trucks and plant normally need a higher class
  • Ground, load footprint, traffic and duration confirmed

The manufacturer figure is one input. The project conditions decide the mat class.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What clients actually ask us about TM10 hire.

What can the TM10 actually take?
Pedestrian use is the core application. TM10 suits foot traffic, wheelchair and pushchair routes, events and occasional cars after a ground and traffic assessment. Vans, light commercial vehicles, trucks and plant normally require TM50, TM120 or TM200. Tell us the ground, vehicle, frequency and duration and we will confirm the class.
How do the mats join, and can I get ramped edges?
Tongue and groove. No connectors, no tools. Each mat slots into the next and adapts around obstacles. Ramped edges are available for a lower-profile transition to ground level for events, public venues and wheelchair or pushchair routes. Tell us the layout and we'll include what the project needs.
How quickly can you mobilise on UK mainland?
24-hour mobilisation can be offered on many UK mainland projects. Timing is subject to stock, route, quantity and installation requirements. Out-of-hours and weekend mobilisation is available by arrangement.
What's the minimum hire?
Minimums depend on distance, quantity, duration and whether collection or installation is required. Send the site postcode, dates and area and we will confirm the most practical hire option.
What about wear and tear?
Fair wear and tear is built into the rate. Surface profiling and edge wear is normal. That's what the mats are for. Anything beyond that is covered by the hire terms you'll see before sign off. No surprises mid hire. Mats are counted at off hire, not mid project.
Can I see them on a project before I commit?
Photos usually do. Send us shots of the ground and the access route, we'll spec the class from those in most cases. On-site survey is on request for larger or more complex projects, with a written spec pack. If TM10 isn't right, we'll tell you that. Saves you the call back later.
Not sure which class is right for the project?
Use the TrackSpec Tool™ for a 60 second indicative recommendation, or pick the phone up and brief us. The tool gets you a starting point. The phone gets you a spec.
